HICKORY, N.C. (FORMERLY OF CLYDE AND GENEVA) - Lesley Schading, 94, of Hickory, N.C., went home to be with his Lord on Monday (May 13, 2013) at Lutheran Home West in Hickory. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Schading family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.
Born January 21, 1919 in Clyde, N.Y., he was the son of the late William Schading and Nora MacDougall Schading. He served in the US Army and retired as a supervisor with the American Can Corporation.
Lesley is survived by his children, Richard Schading (Barbara) of Frederick, Md., Kathy Barnhart (John) of Skandia, Mich., and John Schading (Ann) of Hickory, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Katherine "Kay" Berg (Richard) of Silver Springs, Nevada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Schading.

We were sorry to read about Lesley's passing. Just recently we had discovered a letter he had written to Uncle Raymond (Don's dad) during WW II. Our thoughts and our prayers are with you.
