HARRING, Anthony U., 78, of Brandon, passed away on June 28, 2014. Anthony retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt Col after 20 years of service, during that time he served twice in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Stars. Anthony was a member of the local business community for over 20 years. He and his wife, Fran, owned Quick Signs and Nametags, Inc.; their business was the recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award from the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. Anthony enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a great passion for animals, especially dogs. Anthony is survived by his loving family, wife of 56 years, Fran; sons, Michael, James (Sandy), and Jeffrey (Jeanice); grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor), and Kathryn; great-grandson, Grayson; and his extended family. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite local animal charity.
