Jack Murray Carr

Jack Murray Carr, age 86, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 16, 2015, in San Antonio. He was born on February 22, 1929, in Turnersville, Texas, to parents, Samuel Carr and Leona Martin Carr. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a deacon at Shearer Hills Baptist Church for 40 years. He was a graduate from Baylor University, was a Certified Life Underwriter, and worked with Texas Life Insurance Company for 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Samuel Carr and Reed Carr; sisters, Gwendolyn Jarosz, Joy Murphy, and Peggy Worthington. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Anita; daughter, Rena Fuller; daughter, Lauren Boling and husband, Terry; son, Sammy Carr and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Lettie Maddux and husband, Kelly; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. SERVICE MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2015 10:00 A.M. SHEARER HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH 12615 SAN PEDRO AVE. Dr. Charles Wisdom will officiate. Jack will be laid to rest in Davidson Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Missions at Shearer Hills Baptist Church and South Texas Children's Home.
