Paul Van Loo, age 88 of Holland went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He is survived by his brother Dick and Louise Van Loo of Holland; brothers and sister-in-law: Don Bulthuis of Holland, Norma Van Loo of Holland, Roger Zylema of Byron Center and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his siblings: Dorothy Groenhof, Elaine Bulthuis, Marjorie Smith, Cornie Van Loo and Beatrice Zylema. He was a member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church and a former member of Prospect Park Christian Reformed Church. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII where he sang in Navy Blue Jackets Choir; he also sang in the Trinity Men's Choir and the church choir. Paul worked at Holland-Racine Shoe Company and retired from the Holland Fire Department as Captain. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing but more than either of these he enjoyed spending time with and helping his family. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, 5973 Church Street, Holland, MI 49423. The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, October 24, 2015 also at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church. The Reverend Dr. Stan Scripps and the Reverend Henry Vanden Heuvel will officiate. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland or Graafschap Christian Reformed Church. www.langelandsterenberg.com

I was very close to Uncle Paul all my life.
He was funny, knowledgable, always there for me whether I was stranded in the snow or needed handy man help. I'll miss his laugh, his tenor voice and his kind ways. He was a great man and loved by all.
