The John Hebeisen family is deeply saddened to hear of Ralph's premature death. He will be sorely missed by us and by many as a strong but gentle man who loved his family and his friends. Our family moved to Woodhaven Drive, Mt. Lebanon in the early 70's and were quickly taken under wing by a close knit neighborhood group. Ralph and Jane soon joined and became prime movers in that group. We stayed until 1981 and the warmth and energy of that group has stayed in all our memories ever since. Ralph's passion for sports infected us all and we quickly became Steelers, Pirates, Pitt and Duquesne fans as the sports teams dominated in the 70's. His passion for the college Final Four has stayed with me as if I need to remember the teams, players and scores so I could survive an intelligent conversation with Ra
John, Marge, Steve, Bob, Mark and Laura Hebeisen
lph about the results.

Ralph and Jane got us involved in all sorts of community and sporting events in Pittsburgh. My personal favorite during Brandywine days was a Beer Taste at historic Chiodo's Tavern in Homestead. Of course, Ralph flashed Jane and me a signal which beer was the Iron City. The next morning Jane and I were front and center on the front page of the Post Gazette, surrounded by beer glasses. I actually received fan mail from Hebeisens I never met over that photo. Ralph was a sparkplug that helped make life in Pittsburgh fun. This continued even after we moved to New England because of their ties into the Boston area. We will miss him very much.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Jane, Brian, TJ and the whole family.

In Love and Peace,

John, Marge, Steve, Bob, Mark and Laura Hebeisen

Dear Mrs. C, T.J., Brian, and family...Ralph meant so much to me because of his integrity, smile, and kind heart. He truly was a second father to me and I feel terrible for your loss. It does get better with time, but in truth a part of us is never the same. I take a lot of fond memories with me: the story telling, the smile, and the sincere listening. I hope you know that everyone admired him for the life he led and the family he raised. I am so grateful for the time we had together and I know he is in a better place. God bless you! - Albert

I graduated from St. A's with Ralph in 1964.
Our roads soon diverged and we didn't meet again for 50-years, at last year's reunion.
Ralph had changed little physically over five decades. He also seemed to have the same wonderful heart that made him loved by all his classmates.
He was a class act then. He was still a class act when I saw him in 2014.
I trust he's in a better place. I'm certain he'll occupy a spot in my heart until it's my turn to join him.
I never knew his family, but I offer condolences to you across the miles.

Mr. Compagnone was one of my teachers at saint Anselm High School in Swissvale. He was a wonderful teacher, who was firm but fair. One of the best basketball players I have ever had the pleasure to see play. I am thankful to have known and would like to pass my condolences to his family. He certainly left an impact on my life.
