Lois lived her life as a truly Godly Woman. All that knew her loved her because of the way she lived her life. She had a gift for memory that was phenomenal. She could remember the birthdates, anniv. dates of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren without looking at anything. She achieved so much in her 96 years. Her proudest accomplishment in the U. S. was when she became a citizen. She always had a flag in her home which reminded her of the freedom she had. An avid reader and self-educated aside from only having a 5th grade education, she completed her high school diploma in only one year at Chamberlin High School in 1974. She also received her driver's license in her late 50's. Lois taught children how to play the piano in the Cayman Islands and the guitar in Jamaica where she had to stay for 9 months to go through immigration. She delivered her 3rd child there and raised them there by herself while her husband was in the war. She took a seaplane to Miami where her husband picked up her and the three children and drove them to their final destination of Tampa, FL. Living there brought her so much opportunity to live out the life she had always dreamed of. She was a life-long member of West Hillsborough Baptist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School for many years, Sunbeams, played piano for children's choir and at one time for the pre-school. She also belonged to the WMU which she enjoyed tremendously because of her involvement with missionaries and missionary work. She was a member of the adult choir for many years which she enjoyed immensely. She continued to tithe at that church even after she no longer was able to attend there. All that knew her over the years knew how she cared about the church and it's members. She had an amazing love for people and places and could talk about worldy events in any country you asked her about. She loved to read the newspaper and listen to the radio and TV to keep up with current events until her eyesight gave way and then she relied solely on the radio and TV. When she could no longer read her Sunday School lessons, she relied on cassette tapes. She always figured out a way to get through a challenge. No matter what it was. When she was 70, she set out on a bus trip that covered many states and she kept a diary along the way. She later took a trip to Europe and only made reservations to London before she left Tampa and made the remainder arrangements once she was in the other countries. She never got lost. She had a keen sense of direction and the time of day. She could be anywhere and tell you roughly what time of day it was and which direction you were heading. Her worldly knowledge and common-sense made her a very interesting person to be around She worked as a temp at Maas Brothers on Gandy in the mid 70's and at Martin's Uniforms in the latter 70's. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital for 24 years. She had a kind gentleman (Bob) who drove her back and forth and when he wasn't able she would walk the 10 blocks. She never complained. She loved the beauty of the outdoors and was amazing with growing plants. She always knew just what they needed. Her love for God was obvious to all that knew her. She could answer any question about the bible you asked her and in her Sunday School class, she was the go-to person for answers. She ALWAYS knew what she was talking about. Whether it was biblical or politics. She was very knowledgeable about politics and didn't mind giving you her opinion about a politician. OH HOW SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL. WE LOVED HER DEARLY.
