Steven "Steve" Steggerda

Steven J. (Steve) Steggerda age 72, of Holland, entered his eternal home Monday, November 23, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born in Holland to Lloyd and Minnie (Gerritsen) Steggerda and graduated from Holland Christian Schools. He was a local builder and craftsman and Lifetime Member of the Holland Fish and Game Club. He was a member of Nettles Island church in Florida and attended Central Wesleyan Church. Steve loved the family cottage on Big Star Lake and spending the winters on Nettles Island. He loved to travel and was always planning the next trip. He was able to see all 50 states along with many cruises. Steve was a proud father and grandfather, a big fan of all his grandchildren's activities. He is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Judy; sons, Scott and Julie Steggerda of Holland, Spencer and Wendy Steggerda of Zeeland; 6 grandchildren, Steven Steggerda, Tyler Steggerda, Rachel Steggerda, Nikki Steggerda, Brittany and Mike Lemmen, Zeb Steggerda; brother and sister, Paul and Linda Steggerda, Kathy and Nick DeVries; in-laws, Joyce and Webb Dalman, Marge Vander Ploeg, David and Sheryl Vander Ploeg; many nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Hontz officiating.
