Ruby Moman Davis, 88, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care-Hillcrest. Born in Union County on January 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Cora Rednour Moman; was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church; and was retired from the Owensboro Daviess County Hospital where she was a nurse assistant. Mrs. Davis was a loving, caring person who always put others before herself. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Davis, Jr. in 1992; a brother, Charles Moman; and sisters, Nell Spencer and Dora Weaver.
Surviving are her children, Jeffie (David) Hawes of Owensboro and Michael (Jane) Holt of Morganfield; a step-son, Jeff Davis, III of Chicago; step-daughters, Ruth Ann (Mike) Ashley and Nancy Speed of Mayfield; grandchildren, Jacob (Susan) Wallace, Josh (Leigh Ann) Wallace, Matthew (Lindsay) Hawes, Robert (Erin) Holt, Kathy (Dale) Robertson, and Alex Holt; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Peterson of Owensboro and Margaret Hockett of Washington; a sister-in-law, Frances Moman of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with Dr. James Wedding officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 12 noon on Saturday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Meals on Wheels.
