Virginia Louise Johnson

Virginia Louise (Gina) Johnson of Peoria, passed on December 16 at 88. Born on November 16, 1927 in Globe AZ to Mike & Julia Sliskovich, is survived by her sisters Helen Petersen and Janet Sanford and brother Tom Sliskovich, her daughter Vicki (Jim) Day, & her two sons David (Loretta) Johnson & Mike (Jan) Johnson, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She married Francis Lynn (Bud) Johnson April 9, 1947 in Mesa, AZ. They were married for 51 years. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Encanto Women's Golf Association for over 20 years and she was a member of Pinewood Country Club in Munds Park, AZ. She volunteered in religious studies for children at St. Francis Xavier church and was a known green thumb. Funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton church 9728 W. Palmeras Drive, Sun City AZ on December 29 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to Hospice of the Valley or St. Mary's Food Bank
