James was born on July 12, 1946 and passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. James was a resident of Flat Top, West Virginia at the time of his passing. Jim was a highly decorated veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served in the 196th Light Infantry Brigade Delta 431 and Charlie 321 retiring as Staff Sergeant E-6. Jim earned the Silver Star Bronze Star with Valor 3 Purple Hearts and Army Commendation Medal with Valor Combat Medical Badge and Combat Infantrymanâs Badge National Defense Service Medal Vietnam Service Medal Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w60 device. He was married to Carla. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jim will be 2:00 PM Thursday January 28 2016 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Ralph Calfee officiating and the U.S. Army National Guard Honor Guard conducting Military Services. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to the service hour on Thursday.
