Mom,

I hope your funeral was everything you wanted it to be. Many of your friends and family braved the blizzard to be there in support of you. I hope you could feel the love I was feeling.
Your Jeffie Poo said just about everything you wanted him to say. I'm sure you would be proud of him.
I miss you tons & tons.....just like I told you I would when we were in the sitting area at the hospice house. I love you very much, Mom. Just wish I could talk to you and hold your hand. xoxo

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Elaine. We only knew her for a short time - but she will be missed. Camp just won't be quite the same.

I'm honored to have known you these years and been so much a part of your life--and I will miss you so very much. Being your "adopted son," as you called me, was a treat. I loved it. You're an incredibly special lady--full of hope, love, care, and compassion. You gave everything you had to help others, be it your friends, those in need like the elderly or sick, or poor people. You encouraged others to be better people just by your presence alone. I was always happy when I visited and spoke with you. I'm so glad Tracey is in my life forever and I promise to take the best care of her. You helped shape who she is, and these past few months together have forever strengthened her spirit and mine. You showed such courage and serenity and faith these past weeks. When cancer came on hard, you never let it get you down, never let it win. You beat it, and now rest peacefully in a beautiful place full of summer camps, barbecue pits, bingo games, joy and laughter, and friends. I love you.

"Elaine was one of those friends who could turn a rainy day into sunshine just by her smiles. She loved and enjoyed the children at camp, she made sure she had treats and soda for all to enjoy. She made me realize that life is too short to fuss about the little things, no matter how your day is going there is always someone less fortunate. She was such a giving person and always gave to those less fortunate. I am so grateful that her trust in our friendship, lead her to treatment, which gave her the opportunity to spend time with her family. Her friendship was the best gift of all. I will try to keep my promise and not cry now that she is gone and if I do it will be for the little ones suffering who will never have the joys in life that Elaine did. I know she would want it this way."
