Ruby Mae Robenstein

Ruby Mae Robenstein, 95, of Secor, died at 1:25 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born September 23, 1920 in Benson, IL to John and Lena (Johnson) Smilie. She married David G. Robenstein on February 23, 1939 in Secor. He died on November 24, 2002 in Peoria.

Ruby was also preceded in death by her daughter Bonnie Evans, 3 sisters Mable Manninga, Ruth Jording, Rose Noll; 2 brothers Ernest and James Smilie; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters Shirley Mansfield of East Peoria, Betty (Don) Gangloff of Secor, Barbara Allen of Secor; one brother, Jack (Jeanie) Smilie of Florida; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed baking cookies for her friends and family. She especially enjoyed being with her family. She touched the lives of many and will be forever loved and deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor. Pastor Michael Peters will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church from 10-11 a.m. on Friday. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery.
