Sr. Adele Kasper, CDP

Age 84, of McCandless Township, died peacefully at Providence Heights on Friday, February 5, 2016. Sr. Adele (Patricia Ann) was born July 23, 1931 in Elliott PA., was baptized at St. Martin's Parish – West End. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 7, 1947. Throughout the next 69 years she faithfully and joyfully served God and others as teacher in the Diocese of Pittsburgh for 32 years, Diocese of Wheeling, WV for 5 years. Sr. Adele was the Manager of Jeremiah's Field (Transition Housing for Women in Recovery) in Manhattan Lower East Side New York for 8 years. After leaving her ministry in Manhattan she served at Providence Heights in Child Care and as a receptionist. Sr. Adele received a Bachelor of Education from Duquesne University and continued lifelong learning studies in education and religious studies. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph W. and Genevieve Engelmeier, and three sisters, Barbara, Kathleen and Diane. Sr. Adele is survived by her brother Paul Kasper and sister Jean Sweeney and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Providence Heights on Monday, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation on Tuesday, from 12 - 3:00 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 3:30 p.m. in Divine Providence Chapel.
