Eddie was a remarkable guy, tough and talented, probably the best athlete ever from Northeastern, a hockey player good enough to compete for the Bruins when there was only a handful of Americans in the NHL., and a superb golfer as his 12 Charles River championships attest. It's regrettable so few people nowadays don't realize was an exceptional man he was.

Always remember Mr.Barry as a fair and decent hockey referee . A good guy

Dear Patty and Skip,

So sorry to hear of Eddie's passing, he was a wonderful man. My Dad had a great relationship with Eddie over the years. I remember telling Patty at my Dad's surprise 75th B-Day Party in 1993 about caddying for you and Eddie in the 1970 Winchester CC Father and Son Tourney.

Eddie insisted on hitting a 2 iron, and I insisted he hit a 3 wood. I told him you know Charles Riveer, I know Winchester, hit what I am telling you to hit. He did and put the 3 wood 4 ft for a birdie, and you won the event that year with me as your caddie.

I still remember him smoking the 9 inch cigars that he never took out of his mouth when he swung. That amazed me as much as his great golf skills. 12 time Charles River Champ is impressive.

More important, Eddie was a champion in life for 96 years.

God bless the Barry Family,

Brian Egan and Family
