Ann Paulk Johnson, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Gerald L. "Jerry" Johnson entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 24, 2016 with her family by her side. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Ann was born January 11, 1934 in Ocilla, GA daughter of the late Walter Carl Paulk and Kate Herrington Paulk. She graduated from St. Andrews High School, Class of 1952, with the greatest bunch of friends anyone could ever have and then attended Rice Business College. She was also a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Married on March 21, 1953, Ann was a devoted, loving wife to Jerry. She was an honest, southern lady and the most loving, fair mother that three kids could have to raise them. While they were growing up, she would make sure all of them were at three different ball fields at the same time and still never missed a game. Ann worked as a Librarian's Assistant at the "Lil Red Schoolhouse", Seven Oaks Elementary School for 25 years to make sure that she and Jerry could enable them to go from 1st grade to college. She loved traveling at home and abroad all over with family members. Ann enjoyed participating in the old St. Andrew's High School musicals. The chorus line will never be the same, but there is one more angel dancing in heaven. You will be sorely missed. Ann leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Jerry L. Johnson of Charleston; three sons: G. Keith Johnson (Janet Baker) of Charleston, SC; David C. Johnson of Pooler, GA; Terry L. Johnson (Susan) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and three grandchildren: Sonnie J. Klubenspies (Sean) of Loganville, GA, Tyler L. Johnson and Darby A. Johnson both of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Also remaining are her extended Herrington family of Meggett, SC, her church family and countless friends. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her step-father, Alfred B. Rahtert. Memorials may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 1101 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407.

Grieve not for the lost of Mrs. Johnson but be thankful for the time we had her here to enjoy. I don't think she would want us to grieve but rejoice in knowing she is now with our heavenly father. It's going to be hard with her not here but she will be watching from up above. My deepest regrets to the Johnson family and may Y'all grow stronger every day. God Bless
