The Honorable Thomas P. McCreesh

The Honorable Thomas P. McCreesh, age 87, of Riddle Village, Media, PA, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Rita (nee McTamney). Tom was the son of the late State Senator John J. McCreesh and his wife, Susan (nee McCabe). Upon the death of his father, who served 20 years in the State Senate, Tom was elected to succeed his dad and then served for an additional 16 years. Tom was a graduate of St. Joseph Preparatory School and a faithful alumnus of St. Joseph University, Class of 1950. Tom served in the Army Intelligence during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his siblings Rev. Eugene P. McCreesh, S.J., Sister Marian McCreesh, S.H.C.J., Florence, John, Joseph, Charles and Howard. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Jeanette McCreesh of Havertown, Jean McCreesh of Paoli, his lifelong friends Joseph and Eileen Farrell and many loving and caring nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass Wednesday, March 2, 2016 10:30 AM (Tom's 88th birthday) at Nativity BVM Church, 30 E. Franklin Street, Media, PA 19063. Tom made the decision to will his body to science (Humanity Gifts Registry).
