Elmer Leroy Cleek

Elmer Leroy Cleek, of Eldon, Missouri, died Friday, October 9, 2009, at home. He was born on February 2, 1926, in Harrisburg, Missouri to George William Cleek and Cecil Margaret Stockwell. He was married September 27, 1947 in Columbia to Hazel Nadine Pugh, who preceded him in death. Mr. Cleek was a Certified Welder for Ameren until his retirement in 1988. He was also a Shriner and a member of the AmVets, Eagles, Lions and VFW organizations. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy as a Machinist’s Mate 1st Class. He is survived by two sons, Gary (Marion) Cleek and David Cleek, both of Eldon, Missouri, two daughters, Brenda (Richard) Caravia of Smithton, Illinois and Deborah (Donald) Davis of Granite City, Illinois; two grandchildren, Angela (Ken) White of Highland, Illinois and Austin Caravia of Smithton, Illinois; three great grandchildren, Brittni Davis, Zakkary Davis, and Kaitlyn White, all of Highland, Illinois; and two siblings, Paul (Imogene) Cleek and Mary Catherine (Cleek) Johnson. Visitation is Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services are being held at the Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
