Sara L. Jones

Sara Louise "Sally" Jones, 69, of Cortland passed away Friday afternoon, October 2, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family after an extended battle with breast cancer. Born April 12, 1940 in Masontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth "Clayton" and Sara (Lee) Crowe. Sally came to the Warren area in 1960 from Waynesburg, PA where she studied education for two years. She retired in 2001 from Bank One where she worked as a personal banker for 14 years. She was of the Presbyterian faith and was a devoted wife and mother. Most of all Sally adored her grandchildren and enjoyed her time spent with family. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Larry C. Jones of Cortland whom she married July 7, 1962. Together they shared 47 years of marriage and two children. She is survived by her son Jon (Stephanie) Jones of Warren, and daughter Tami (Michael) Szuba of Howell, MI, five grandchildren, Ian and Alexa Jones, and Sara, Ethan, and Natia Szuba, a sister-in-law Ruth Crowe of Warren, and two nieces, Sherry Manning of Warren and LeeAnn Tenney of Champion. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother Richard Crowe. According to Sally's wishes she will be cremated. The Rev. Marvin A. Barney will conduct a memorial service on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11AM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 11AM.
