Whitney Nelson

Our trendsetting, photogenic, hand-holding, sultry-voiced, marathon-running and animated pink princess experienced a change of address following a tragic hiking accident on "Y" Mountain, March 25, 2007, and has returned to her heavenly home.

Whitney was born December 10, 1986 in Provo, Utah to Howard (Howie) and Sharon Stokes Nelson. Whitney grew up in a large and supportive family where she learned to love her Heavenly Father. She was an active member of the LDS Church, loved ward members and especially the children of her Primary nursery class.

She graduated from Provo High School in 2005 and later from Dallas Roberts Academy and was enrolled at Brigham Young University.

Whitney easily made friends with everyone she met and gave freely of her time, sharing her talents, love, giving haircuts, make-up tips, and much-needed hugs and late-night talks.

Whitney will be greatly missed by her parents: Howard and Sharon, and her siblings: Sharalee (Steve) Nabrotzky, Natasha (Scott) Allen, Camille, Kelsey, Kimberly, Emily and David Howard; three nieces: Kinzy, Emery, and Kaylie; as well as three foster sisters: Nora Lemmon, Nile Skinner, and Konnalee Cassity. Grandparents Jay and Fern Stokes and Preston Nelson join a caring extended family and many friends who have cherished their time with Whitney.

Friends may call at the Grandview Stake Center chapel, 1600 North 1850 West, Wednesday, March 28th, from 6 - 8:30 pm, and Thursday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 am. Services will follow at 11:00 am. If you know Whitney, you'll know that pink will be acceptable attire.
