Barbara J. Staples

HAMILTON LAKES - Barbara J. Staples, 78, of Hamilton Lakes, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the daughter of the late Roy and Louise (Borrnick) Bohn. Barb married Richard Staples on Sept. 27, 1958, in Grand Rapids. The couple moved to Niagara, Wis. in 1970. Together they owned and operated Superior Michigan Hardwoods. He preceded her in death in March 3, 1989. Barb was an avid golfer and member of Oak Crest Golf Course. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and spending her winters in Sun City, Ariz. Barb really loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed life to its fullest. She is survived by her children, Shawn (Donna) Staples of Vulcan and Tami (Tim) Sexton of Niagara; one sister, Beverly Gillette of Texas, and four grandchildren, Kyle and Kassi Staples and Jordan and Weston Sexton. Barb was preceded in death by her son, Rex in 1981. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery. Condolences can be expressed to the family of Barbara J.
