Charles J. Modica

Charles “Chuck� J. Modica, Jr. passed away on August 12, 2010 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Doris Gaines Modica for 64 years. He is survived by his children Gail Modica Vowell and her husband Robert E. Vowell, II. and Dorothy Modica Hollingsworth; grandchildren Anne Ranatza (Anthony), Karen Waguespack (Alfred), Kevin Hollingsworth (Cristy) and Karl Hollingsworth (Shelly); great-grandchildren Kasey, Elizabeth, Garrett, Allison, Katy, Alexis and Mason. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Myrtle Lyons Modica and Charles J. Modica, Sr. He was captain of the football team for S.J Peters High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and worked for Kaiser Aluminum Plant for 25 years. Charles was a member of several community organizations including President of Kenner Lions Club and President of AARP chapter #2624. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 3412 Haring Road, on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
