Robert Jackson Baird

Robert Jackson Baird 80, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Robert was born in Colchester, Illinois to Walter and Lucille Baird. He proudly served in the Air Force and upon discharge continued to work for the Air Force as a civilian. Mr. Baird was an electrical engineer for nearly 30 years. His last employment prior to retirement was with Union Carbide. Robert was widowed in 2003, when his wife Margaret passed away. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Richard (Audrey) Baird; two grandchildren, Jason Baird and Christopher (Ingrid) Baird; step-daughter, Carole Byers, Dallas, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Elissa Baird; two brothers, Jack (Claire) Baird of Colorado and Tom (Karen) Baird of Illinois. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park North. Service will follow the calling at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Indianapolis in honor of Robert Baird.
