Rene Charles Peterson, 46, a native of Ashton and a resident of Franklin, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 12:04 p.m. in Franklin. Rene is survived by his daughter, Lilah Benedietto of Franklin; his parents, Earl Peterson and Juliet Rodriguez Peterson of Ashton; two brothers, his twin, Patrick Peterson and his wife, Cindy Snellgrove Peterson, of Baton Rouge, and Gregory Peterson of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Lauren Peterson Ingram and her husband Rance Ingram, of Ashton, and Roslyn Peterson of Ashton; and eight nieces and nephews, his godchild, Erin Ingram, April and Casey Ingram, Adrian, Adam, and Nicholas Molaison, and Rhett and Caroline Peterson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, May 12, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary, with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., led by Deacon Douglas Hebert. Visiting will resume Wednesday, May 13, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Readers for the Mass will be Lilah Benedietto, Caroline Peterson, and Erin Ingram. Musical selections will be performed by Lyndsi Maus. Burial will follow in the church cemetery mausoleum. Father William Ruskoski will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Dan Guillotte, Rene Junca, Clint Talbot, Randy Segura, Kevin Rodriguez, and Shane Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerard Peterson, Paul Robicheaux, and Kevin Couvillier. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Rene's name to the Hanson - St. John Fund, 924 Main St., Franklin, LA 70538.
