Louis Guido Dondero

Louis Guido Dondero passed peacefully in Stockton at the age of 93. He was born on October 5, 1917 in Linden, CA. the fourth of six children born to Italian Immigrants, Fortunato and Linda Dondero. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty. He was the father of Larry Dondero (Jean) who preceded him, Shirley Dondero Churchill, (Jerry), who preceded him, and Beverley Dondero Dierking (John). He was a devoted grandfather of Brianna Dondero Martin (Steve), Jennifer Churchill Daniels (Dave), Spencer Churchill (Lauren), Bradley Dierking, Sara Cahill Marin (Simon), and Jeffrey Dierking: and the great grandfather of Lauren and Alison Martin, Joey Linares, Madeline and Dylan Churchill, and Emma and Samuel Daniels. Louis was the last surviving Dondero of his generation. Louis grew up on the family farm in Linden and farmed there all of his adult life. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Linden Lions Club, Italian Athletic Club, and the Italian Gardeners Club. Louis was passionate about his family, education, and loved spending time with relatives. He also enjoyed taking train trips across the United States. A Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 18633 Front St., Linden, CA on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 1PM to 5PM at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA. Committal will be at the Linden Cemetery In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis memory to the American Heart Association, or to the Linden Athletic Boosters, (for Elementary Athletics)
