Anne Bradley Gooch peacefully left this world with her beloved husband and family by her side August 15 at Ochsner Hospital. Born in New Orleans in 1946. Daughter of Marjorie Nettles Bradley and the late Dr. David Francis Bradley. Granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nettles of New Orleans and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bradley of San Francisco. She attended Miss Aikens, Isidore Newman and graduated from Louise S. McGehee School. At Louisiana State University, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was presented at the Debutant Club, the Bachelors Club, and was a maid in several carnival courts. Mrs. Gooch was a civic and social advocate. She was a publicist for the Blue Room at the Roosevelt Hotel where she interfaced and worked with show business personalities. She also worked as an advertising coordinator for the Louisiana State Medical Society. She was an active member of St. George’s Parent Association. She was an advocate for children’s mental health with the State Medical Society. She was a founding board member of the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience, serving twice as president and continued to work on the program committee and also designed the official pin for their annual event. She was an active member in the Orleans Club, the Colonial Dames, Chaine des Rotisseur, the Grass Roots Club, Sybarites, and Les Amies Ensembles. Survived by her husband David Barr Gooch; three sons Bradley Barr Gooch, Andrew Campbell Gooch, and David Barr Gooch, Jr.; her mother Marjorie Bradley; sisters Susan B. Freyder (Albert), and Carolyn M. Bradley (Malcolm Ryder). Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 3:00 PM. Visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Contributions to the charity of your choice preferred.
