Mr. John F. Walters

Walters, John F., age 81, September 4, 2011 of Trenton. Beloved father of Paul (Julie), John and Michael Walters. Also survived by his grandchildren Molly, Nicholas, Samantha, Stephen and Claire; his sister Sally (the late Jerry) Young. John was born on July 28, 1930, in Washington, Indiana to Paul and Mary Walters. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana State University and a Master of Education degree from Eastern Michigan University. He taught at Monroe Catholic Central High School, and he taught at Grosse Ile Public Schools. He was also a successful business owner and operator of Shampluto Dog Grooming in Trenton, Michigan and Northline Dog Grooming in Southgate, Michigan. John was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of The American Legion. John provided volunteer service to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Manna Soup Kitchen in Detroit, Michigan. He was also a volunteer usher at the Detroit Fox Theater and an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Trenton, Michigan. John was a member of the Irish-American Club in Detroit, Michigan and an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus in Trenton, Michigan.
