Luis Dominguez Obituary

Luis V. Dominguez, 90, joined his beloved wife Julia peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was born June 11, 1921, at Del Rio, and later lived in Galveston, Texas where his mother passed on. When the United States entered the Second World War, Luis enlisted in the U.S. at Fort Sam Houston in 1942 and became a member of the 506 Parachute Infantry. Being afraid of heights he was transferred to the Regular Infantry and joined the 32nd Infantry at Brisbane, Australia. He fought all the way through New Guinea, Leyte, and finally Luzon Philippine Island. After the War ended he returned to the U. S. and fell in love with Stockton, Ca. and decided this was the place he wanted to settle down. In 1946 he met and fell in love with Julia Lopez of Harbor City, CA. and in September 1947 they were married in Minden, Nevada and came to live in Stockton. He joined the Postal Service in March, 1948, and his first son, Louis H. (Lou) was born. Then in September, 1950, he was recalled to the Armed Forces once more to help fight in the Korean War. The family relocated to Harbor City where their second son, Gary Michael was born. They returned to Stockton after the Armistice Truce in Korea in time for their daughter Rebecca was born in 1952. Luiz continued his career at the Postal Service. In 1956 their last son, Lorenzo was born and the family lived happily since. In May, 1978, Luiz retired. In June 2009, and happily married for 62 years, Luiz lost his beloved wife Julia. He is survived by his sons, Louis (Lou), Gary, Larry and daughter Rebecca. His great grandson Michael, Anthony, great grand-daughter Cynthia, and great, great, grand-daughter, Lyra. Plus Nieces and Nephews in Stockton.
