Michael Francis Clouse

Michael Francis Clouse, age 54, of Albia, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Monroe County Hospital under the care of Hospice of Monroe County. Mike was born February 2, 1957 to Bill and Pauline (Flanders) Clouse in Albia. Mike was raised by Darrell and Pauline Stocker. He attended and graduated from Albia High School Class of 1975. Mike married Mary Gerwig on December 4, 1992. Mike owned and operated the Waterworks a bar in Albia, and later hauled freight as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for many years and USF Holland. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, looking for mushroom and arrowheads. Mike enjoyed sports and playing baseball when younger; he especially enjoyed spending time with his children, Family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife, Mary Clouse of Albia; his children, Michael James (Lacey) Gregg, Megan Clouse, and Jake Clouse all of Albia; a grandchild, Brady James Gregg; two sisters, Kathy (Jack) Keeton of Hartford, and Cinda (Dennis) Comstock of Albia. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces' and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dennis Heiden and Junior Harter; and a sister, Patty Lou Boeger; A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday December 19, 2011 at Tharp-Winfield Funeral Home in Albia, with Rev. Melisa Keeton officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Tharp-Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with Mike's family present from 6:00-8:00 P.M. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family.
