Doug Coker

Mr. William Douglas "Doug" Coker, Sr., age 67 of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 20, 2012. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Avery and Blanche Gunn Coker. Doug was a 1962 graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School and a 1964 graduate of DeKalb Tech. He was owner of Doug Coker Properties, North Henry Storage and USA Truck & Auto. Doug came from humble beginnings and worked very hard to succeed and become the successful businessman he was. His family always came first and any free time he had was devoted to his family. He loved FOX News and Talk Radio and was intent on keeping up with the world news and the political status of the country. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Judy Cook Coker; children, Dawn Anderson of Atlanta, Doug (Angela) Coker, Jr. of McDonough, Kim Phillips of Atlanta and Kally Phillips of McDonough; grandchildren, Haley and Taylor Anderson, William Anderson, Matson Anderson, Trey Coker and Julia Coker; sister, Margaret Boone of Douglasville; brothers, James Coker of Cleveland, GA and Wayne Coker of Charleston, SC. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 5:00 PM from the Shingleroof Campground. Rev. Rachael Knolls and Rev. James Miller will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hands of Hope or Flint River Council of Boy Scouts of America in memory of Doug.
