Mrs. Nancy Reginald Courtney Godbold

Nancy Reginald Courtney Godbold, widow of Warren Godbold Jr., died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Newark, Delaware. She was born in Aiken, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Reginald Courtney and Frances Kerr Courtney Wise. She was a graduate of Aiken High School and attended Winthrop College. She was a member of the Colonial Dames and the Edisto Island Open Land Trust as well as The Edisto Historical Society. She is survived by two sisters, Martha Baine Robinson and Patricia Underwood Hafers and her children; daughters, Kathleen Godbold (Larry Cozzillio), Frances Slater (Curt), and sons Stephen Godbold and William Godbold (Bruce Mandeville). A son, Warren Godbold III, preceded her in death. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Meaghan Zambrano, Sarah Miller, Brittany Godbold, Emily Nowak, Ransom Cozzillio and a great grandson, Camryn. In addition, two step grandsons, Drew Slater (Laura) and Brad Slater (Carina) and two step great grandchildren, Curtis and Genevieve, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved her very much. She is also survived by her beloved pug, Fred. She loved dogs, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband, and was happiest on the front porch of her Edisto Island beach house surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Thursday, May 24th at 11:00am. Friends may call at 10:00am.
