Richard Keith Pierce, age 71 of Cincinnati, Iowa died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa. He was born on April 4, 1941 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of David and Mildred (Brown) Pierce. Richard married Neta Allen on May 26, 1963 in Kirksville. They later moved to Cincinnati, Iowa. Richard engaged in several careers during his working years. He owned and operated a construction business. Richard and Neta also owned the Levee Laundromat for several years. Richard was later employed as a millwright, traveling throughout several states working on machinery. He spent his final eighteen and one half years of employment with Rubbermaid Manufacturing working as a maintenance supervisor. Richard retired from Rubbermaid at the age of sixty two. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and coon hunting. Furthermore, Richard's favorite passion was collecting "junk." According to family members, he often attended flea markets in order to add more "junk" to his collection. Richard also enjoyed attending tractor and truck pulls. Richard is survived by his wife Neta Pierce of Cincinnati, Iowa; a son Brian Pierce of Pella, Iowa; one grandchild, Ricci Marie Pierce; a sister Cecil George of Bebe, Arkansas; and two brothers, Paul Pierce of Pierce, Colorado, and Ed Pierce of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Richard Paul Pierce; and a grandchild, Paul Allen. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Walter King officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 1-2PM on Sunday at Lange Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Richard Keith Pierce Memorial Fund and may be given to Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville
