David A. Redel

David A. Redel, 67, of Olathe, KS, passed away June 8, 2012 in his home. David was born March 12, 1945 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur G. and Jeanne C (Hoffman) Redel. He proudly served his country, during Vietnam, in the U.S. Army for 4 years, as a helicopter pilot with the 8th CAV F Troop, Blue Ghost Squadron. David wed Felecia in 1966. David has been a resident of Olathe since 1970 and he was a parishioner at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Shawnee. Survivors include his loving wife, Felecia, two sons, David J. Redel of Olathe and Michael A. Redel of Edgerton, KS, three grandchildren, Michael, Seth, and Dylan, a brother, Arthur (Vicky) Redel , three sisters, Mary (Barry) Fritz, Nancy , and Margaret Gerber, a sister-in-law, Grace Stieferman, and several nieces and nephews. David is also survived by his "helicopter brothers," and "Sysco family." He was preceded in death by both parents, and his grandson, Joshua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 14th, 10:00 AM, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 5501 Monticello Rd, Shawnee, KS.
