Kerry Hafner Obituary

Published by Behr's Funeral Home on May 29, 2012.
Kerry Ann Berg Hafner of Edgington, Il formerly of Dubuque passed away on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at home after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at the Dubuque Shooting Park, Hwy 52 North, Dubuque from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday, June 16th , 2012. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 with open sharing and a luncheon to follow. Behr Funeral Home will assist with any questions you may have. Kerry was born in 1970 in Dubuque, IA to Gary C. and Ruby K. Berg. She married the love of her life, Stanley C. Hafner on August 10, 2002 at Newcomb Presbyterian Church, Davenport. Kerry's smile would always light up a room, and because of that and her magnetic personality, she easily made friends wherever she went. Spending time with her grandkids, nieces and nephews brought her great joy, spoiling them whenever possible. She loved everything about life including dancing, people, camping and traveling with her husband. Kerry was also an active participant of Gilda's Club Wellness Group since 2010. Those left to honor her memory are, her beloved husband; parents; siblings and their families, Kelly, Doug, Drew (her Godson), Clay, Liz, and Abbey Perry, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA; Kevin, Beth, Alex, Maggie, Jack (her Godson), and Ellie Berg, all of Dubuque, IA; and her stepsons and their families, Heath, Heather, Alex, and Sydney Hafner, all of Mahomet, IL; Gunnery Sergeant Matthew, Sunshine, Brady (Moeller-Rock Island, IL), Hunter, Adyson, and George Hafner, all of Oceanside, CA; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and Stan's extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Mary Berg, Clarence and Helen "Pat" Bauman, uncles Paul Berg, Ralph Bauman, and Mastan Singh, her in-laws Charles and Martha Hafner, and her "adopted" grandma, Charlotte Duttle. Kerry, her family and friends would like to extend a special thank you to her amazing cancer team, Dr. Constantinou and staff of Hematology and Oncology, and Dr. Shiras and staff of Trinity Cancer Center.
