Steven Geary Wiser, 32, of N. Woodman Avenue died unexpectedly Sunday, December 28, 2008. He was born March 17, 1976 in Ashtabula, the son of William G. and Diana (Gaskell) Wiser and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident, except during his years in the military. A graduate of Conneaut High School, he also had attended Edgewood High School and was currently employed with ASHTA Chemicals, a job he truly loved. A proud veteran of the U.S. Marines, he served his country for 4 years before being discharged as a sergeant. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and anything to do with his children. He collected oriental keepsakes, enjoyed bowling, Coca-cola, and the Wizard of Oz, and loved Cleveland Browns and Notre Dame Football. A very creative person, he also enjoyed writing poetry and drawing. His survivors include his wife, Angie (Reynolds) Wiser, whom he married August 2, 2003; three children, Angolia and Caydence Wiser, both of Andover; and Tyler Wiser Houser of Conneaut from a previous marriage, his father, William (Laurie Meaney) Wiser of Conneaut; his mother, Diana (Wayne) Carter of Ashtabula; one sister, Stacie Winchell of Austinburg; two brothers, Shaun Wiser of Mentor and Scott Wiser of Ashtabula; his grandparents, Barb and Jim Wiser of N. Kingsville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer and Helen Gaskell; and his great-grandparents, Arnie and Edna Pasanen and Ralph and Edna Wiser. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 P.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula with a service to be held at 5 P.M. Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate with full military honors being conducted by the American Legion Dewey-Howlett Post #103. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville. Contributions may be made to his children c/o his wife, Angie Wiser. www.ducro.com
