SOUTHLAKE -- Brian R. Stebbins, of Southlake, TX, passed away on October 2, 2012. As he was throughout his life, Brian was surrounded by his friends and family during his final moments. A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, at the Southlake Hilton, in Southlake Town Square. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at www.theaftd.org. Brian was born on September 18, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Roland and Sheila Stebbins and raised in Rockford, Illinois. Brian graduated from Iowa State University in 1979, where he was President of the Student Union and an active member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He married Pattie Nitke on June 24, 1989. Until his illness took him away from the business he loved, Brian was President and CEO of Cooper & Stebbins, LP, the Southlake, Texas based company that he started with Partner and friend, Peter Cooper in 1996. Brian will be forever remembered for envisioning and developing Southlake Town Square, and for the passion, determination and attention to detail that he brought to Southlake's downtown to life. Brian was a Southlake resident for over 16 years and an active member of the community. He was a founding member and past Chair of the Carroll Education Foundation; and served on many other boards and other committees supporting the area including: The Dallas Real Estate Council, The Community Foundation of North Texas, the Apex Arts League, GRACE and Art in the Square. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Roland and brother, Scott. Survivors: his loving wife of 23 years, Pattie; children, Carter and Jenna; mother, Sheila Stebbins; sister, Dianne Stout;niece, Kelli Girardin; business family at Cooper & Stebbins and many close friends that he made and kept throughout his lifetime. Brian will be missed but his spirit and memory live on forever.
