Janet P. Stauffer

Janet Stauffer was born on July 13, 1951 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the loving parents of Harold and Dorothy Perethian. She spent some of her childhood in Pawtucket before moving to Needham, Massachusetts where she attended high school. Upon completion of high school, she enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, ME. Here, she studied English, made wonderful friends, spent a semester in Italy and met her first husband, Larry Bigelow. After graduating Colby the two moved to West Hartford, Connecticut where they began a family, having son Stephen on July 12, 1979. It was only a few years later when her growing family moved back to Needham, and soon had a second son, Chris, on September 5, 1986. Janet raised her family here before marrying Dale Stauffer in September of 2006 and moving to Westwood. Dale and Janet enjoyed all aspects of life, including: travelling, hosting friends, becoming grandparents, and enjoying true companionship. Throughout her life, Janet cherished her time as a devoted mother, a successful technical writer, and a loving wife. She will be remembered for her loving, caring, and comforting presence that she elegantly carried. Funeral services at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Wed. November 28th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment services will be held at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence RI on Wed at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow at Janet's and Dale's home at 47 Whitewood Rd. in Westwood at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials in Janet's memory may be made to The Susan G.
