Carol A. (Paulini) McGourty

Carol A. (Paulini) McGourty of Bourne, formerly of Needham, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the McCarthy Care Center. She was 64 years old. Carol was a graduate of Newton South HS Class of 1966 and was a former employee of the Needham YMCA and Sportsight in Sandwich. She loved the beach, cooking for and feeding people, Lifetime movies and adored her grandchildren. Everyone that came in contact with Carol instantly felt comfort with her. It was her selfless nature that people gravitated to most. The beloved wife for 40 years of James M. McGourty, she was the loving mother of Megan L. McGourty of Quincy and Michael J. McGourty and his wife Abbie of Wakefield. She was the adoring grandmother of Jackson, Quinn, Daisy and Juliet. Carol was the sister of Joseph Paulini of Needham, Thomas Paulini of Harwich and the late Gail Robinson. Carol is also survived by her many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Church, 1360 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday March 16th at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment is Private. A reception will be held at Michael McGourty's home, 24 Aborn Ave, Wakefield on Saturday from 12 Noon to 3 PM. In lieu of flowers donation in Carol's name may be made to the McCarthy Care Center, 765 Attucks Lane Hyannis MA 02601.
