Jose Antonio Reyes

Naugatuck - Mr. Jose Antonio Reyes, age 56, of Naugatuck, died August 7th, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Indira P. (Durbal) Reyes. Jose was born in New York City, New York on October 31,1956 son of Felicita Nieves Guadalupe of Puerto Rico and the late Jose Antonio Reyes. He is also survived by his step father Israel Rosario Pabon of Puerto Rico. He was employed as a Substance Abuse Counselor/Supervisor at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown and was also a former employee of Bridgeport Mental Health and Berkshire Woods. He was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, and a collector of Star Wars, Star Trek, and other sport memorabilia. One of his other hobbies was playing the Congas. Music was a passion that he enjoyed immensely. Jose also took great pride in his job in assisting all of his co-workers whom he loved dearly.Jose is survived by his two sons, Yovan D. Reyes and his wife Danielle of Tampa, FL and Sajesh D. Reyes, two grandchildren, Kian R. Reyes and Elias D. Reyes, several brother in laws and sister in laws and several nieces and nephews. Jose's family would like to thank the staff of St. Francis Hospital Cancer Center and the 8th Floor Cancer Unit for the care and compassion that they provided. They would also like to thank his co-workers and staff at Connecticut Valley Hospital for the incredible support and care that they have shown to his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 4 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Rd. Prospect. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
