Funeral services for Carol Ann Jackson, age 56, of Lafayette, Colorado, formerly of Ewing, Nebraska, were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, followed by graveside services in the parish cemetery, with Father Jim Kramper officiating. Visitation was 1 hour before Funeral Service. She passed away at the Tru Hospice Center in Louisville, Colorado, on December 8, 2013. Rosary and memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at 7pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette, Colorado. Carol Ann Thramer was born to J. Alex & Joyce (Kerkman) Thramer on April 9, 1957, Neligh, Nebraska, and baptized at St Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing. She grew up and attended school in Ewing, graduated from high school in 1975, and a year at Wayne State College. She was united in marriage to Bill Jackson of Inman on January 8,1977, and moved to Dallas, Texas. In August of 1977 they moved to North Platte, then to Boulder, Colorado in 1980 where their son, Travis was born on April 22nd, 1981. Carol and Bill were divorced in 1988. In 1994 they were reunited with their daughter, Michelle. Carol & Travis lived in the Boulder/Denver area for 32 years. Her working career took her from United Van Lines and transportation/distribution account management to computer software and hardware sales with Aspen Ribbons and Marco International and Rocky Mountain Ram, whom she was with for the past 22 years. Carol was an active parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church & served for many years on the Parish Council. Her interests and joys were in the individual lives of her family and friends. She was a loyal and avid fan to her native Ewing Tigers, Huskers, Denver Broncos & Keith Urban. Carol is survived by her son, Travis, wife Taren & granddaughter Makenna of Northglenn, Colorado; & daughter Michelle Bradley, Austin, Texas; Mother, Joyce (Kerkman) Thramer of Ewing; sisters Linda Wingett, Ewing; Vonnie Kresge & husband, Paul of Lafayette, Colorado; and Teena Albert and husband, Tony, of Omaha. Three brothers, Joe Thramer and wife Nancy, Spalding, Chuck Thramer & wife RoseAnn of Omaha, Nebraska; Pat Thramer and wife, Deb, Ewing, Nebraska. 25 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews, including 3 Godchildren: Teresa Reiter Murdy, & Traci & April Thramer She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Alex, sister Bev Thramer, her nephew, Joshua Thramer, Godfather Mark Thramer, & extended family members. After her valiant fight and win with colon cancer in 2009, Carol's battle resumed 4 years later with lung cancer that spread to the brain, liver and bones. Her determined will to live for her family and new granddaughter, unwavering faith and hope in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and supporters carried her through almost a year of chemo, radiation, & pain and suffering she seldom showed outwardly. Her faith, hope and "I'm not giving up" attitude was contagious to those around her. Throughout her own struggles she reached out and comforted a host of others in need. Carol's family was by her side as she peacefully left on her journey to join Dad and Bev and our awesome God.
