Eduardo DiBartolomeo, of Waltham, died Sunday, December 22, in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 84. Eduardo was born in Filetto, Italy on June 1, 1929, the son of the late Nicola and Isabella (Eberoll) DiBartolomeo. He was raised and educated in Italy and then moved to Argentina when he was 21. At age 38 he moved to the United States. In both Italy and Argentina he studied at fine arts design schools and it was there where he developed his craft as a tailor. For many years he owned and operated his own tailor shop in Watertown Square. Eduardo's family was his priority and in the DiBartolomeo household Sundays were reserved for joyous feasts and beautiful music. He especially loved the holidays, or any occasion for that matter, where the family would gather together. He was also deeply devoted to his faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Luke's Church in Belmont. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Bridget (Angelucci) DiBartolomeo; his daughters, Isabella Pavao and her husband, Joe, of Lynnfield, Annamaria DiBartolomeo of Boston, and Lisa DiBartolomeo of New York City; his grandsons, Joseph and Christopher Pavao; his nephews, Mario Libertini and Carlo Libertini of Waltham, as well as nieces and nephews in Ohio. He was the brother of the late Mario DiBartolomeo, Herminia DiBartolomeo, Venezia DiVirgilio, and Iris Libertini. Family and friends will honor and remember Eduardo's life by gathering for calling hours on Saturday, December 28th, in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, 51 Sleeper Street, Boston, MA 02210 or to the Metropolitan Opera, 30 Lincoln Center, New York, NY 10023.
