Barbara Ann Rader

Barbara Ann Rader (nee Schlitter), 73 of Avon and formerly of Fairview Park, OH passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home at St. Mary of the Woods in Avon after a 34 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis and complications of a stroke. She was born August 8, 1940 in Cleveland and was a graduate of St. Francis University where she received a bachelor of science in education. Barbara was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Avon Lake and enjoyed Indiana basketball and watching Jeopardy on television. She had a deep faith and love of family and friends. Beloved wife of Donald, married 50 years; loving mother of Maribeth Rader Sexton (Gary) of Carmel, Indiana; Michael Paul Rader (Anna) of West Melbourne, Florida and Jill Michelle Lowe (Christopher) of Batavia, Illinois; devoted grandmother of seven; dear sister of Richard and Thomas Schlitter; and daughter of the late Alex and Harriet Schlitter. Memorial Mass at St. Mary of the Woods Chapel, 35755 Detroit Road, Avon Thursday January 2 at 11:00am, where friends may call one hour prior. Inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
