Irene Mary Warner died peacefully in her own home surrounded by her children, on her own terms at the ripe old age of 91 on New Year's Day. Irene was Born in Czechoslovakia, moving to Canada when she was 8, finally residing in Trenton with her husband where she raised her family. On New Year's Eve she became ill and 24 hours later, after saying her goodbyes, she went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Morgan (Mickey), her son Mickey and grandson Mickey. She continues to watch over her remaining children Robert (Jan), Patrick (Carol), Suzanne, Kathy (Larry) and Tim (Tomomi). She also loved and cherished her 10 grandchildren Kelly, Hannah, Ashley, Katy, Courtney, Josey, Morgan, Mickey, Nathan and Marina as well as two great grandchildren Matthew and Noah. Irene also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, a brother Joe (Doris) and a sister Mary (Paul). Irene was an amazing, unique woman, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend; she was sharp as a tack to the end. Irene dealt courageously with all of life's challenges. She had a generous, caring heart, a great sense of humor and she loved making soups and meals for her family and friends. There is hardly a person who knows her that doesn't have a blanket crocheted by her arthritic hands and she loved the beauty of her garden, canning pickles, jams and sauces, watching her daily mass, the Tigers, Spartans and Red Wings as well as a 'drinky-pooh' at 3pm. We will come together to celebrate her long life starting with Mass Sat. 1/4 @ St. Timothy's church (Trenton) at 10:30 am, followed by a luncheon @ the church then visitation across the street at Martenson Funeral Home from 1-5pm. The graveside service will be private on Monday. Irene would say to you, "If the roads are bad…stay at home, be safe…don't be silly"…she was practical that way. No grey areas. Those who had the honor to know her will miss her sadly. Heaven has been enriched with her arrival where she continues to socialize and direct traffic.
