Michael Keith Modin

Michael Keith Modin, age 60 years, entered the presence of his Savior on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper in Saginaw. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan on September 14, 1953. Michael was a graduate of Michigan State University and was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant, having passed the C.P.A. examination on his first try. He was active in many area churches and was a member of the West Bay Merchants Association. Michael cared deeply for his grandchildren and was an avid baseball fan and baseball card collector. On March 12, 1977, he married the former Cheryl L. Crandall and she survives him. He also leaves two children: Kevin (Darcy) Modin and Andrea (Ben) Ginac, his mother, Gail (nee, Kiley) Modin, two grandchildren: Damion and Victoria Ginac, three sisters: Marci Seeloff, Patti (Wayne) McCormick and Kathie (Jeff) Everitt, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick L. Modin. Funeral and Committal services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Bay City. Pastor Dave Boillat will officiate and cremation will follow. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 5-9 p.m. He will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
