Albert Conner Obituary

Published by Gebhart Funeral Home - Claymont on Dec. 13, 2013.
Albert "Ben" Conner, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Wilmington, DE, son of Marlene Orlowsky and Don Conner, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2013 in his beloved Ardencroft, DE. Ben graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1979, and left with a passion for music and video. Through hard work, Ben rose to become a highly regarded director & engineer in the Video Projection Industry. Ben's work took him around the world touring with such talents as Jimmy Buffett, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Andrea Bocelli and dignitaries such as Pope John Paul II, and President Bill Clinton. Ben was literally the "wizard behind the curtain" providing the means for the talent to "shine". Ben had a huge heart which found the good in everyone and will be missed by many around the world. Ben was predeceased by his Mom, Marlene A. Orlowsky, but is survived by his parents, Don and Kathy Conner of Odessa, FL; his sister, Lisa and her husband Robert and nieces Conner, Bryant and Bradley Graybeal of Wilmington, DE; his brothers, Robert Gruettner and Don Conner Jr. of San Francisco, CA, his family, friends and his beloved cats. Please join us in saying goodbye to our beloved Ben on Thursday, December 19th from 5:00– 7:00 pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. A religious service will be conducted at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to The Food Bank of Tampa, FL. . I'm sorry for your loss. I like to share with you a hope from the Bible where it says that we can see our loved ones again.

He was always Benny, until he became Ben. I don't know when we stopped calling you Benny? Now, I'm the only one with a nick-name, but my brother's are the only ones who use it, sometimes Dad.
I'm so sad that your gone and I didn't get to say goodbye. Loosing a sibling is like loosing a piece of my heart. I'm trying to find comfort in knowing your pain is gone, the suffering is over.
I love and miss you.

Ben was the sweetest most loving and caring man I ever met and he leaves a giant hole in my heart. Our kittens and I will miss him more than words can describe. My best friend is in heaven watching over me and I'm looking up wishing he was still here just a little longer. I love you B.

For all the good times and crazy adventures we shared I will be forever grateful to you my friend. It's rare in our world to remain close with someone for 34 years, and we created stories that I will tell forever. I miss you Ben, rest well and I'll see you on the other side, someday!
