Claire M. Morin

Claire Marie Morin, 80, of Granby, beloved wife of the late Viateur Morin, passed away unexpectly on Wednesday, (January 15, 2014) at her home. Born in Lac Megantic, Quebec, Canada on December 28, 1933, daughter of the late Edmond and Kilda (Fortier) Roy, she had lived in Canada before moving to Hartford 53 years ago and then to Granby 14 years ago. After moving to Hartford, Claire worked at Royal Typewriter. After the company closed, Claire took a position at Stanadyne in Windsor as a machine operator until her retirement in 1997. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking and bicycling around her home, traveling and spending time at the beach. Clair had a passion for reading especially romance novels and fiction, and also enjoyed putting together puzzles and dancing. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church while she lived in Hartford and had attended St. Therese Church while living in Granby. She leaves a son, Sylvain Morin and his wife Bonnie of Lebanon; a daughter, Joanne Morin and her husband Alain Bisson of Granby; three brothers, Philip Roy and his wife Jeanine, Roger Roy and his wife Denise, and Paul Roy and his wife Jan; a sister, Doloris Bouffard and her husband Armand all of Quebec, Canada; and three grandchildren, Adam Morin, Michelle Morin, and Alaina Bisson. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Leo, Henry, and Claude. Her family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, January 20, 11 a.m., at St. Therese Church, Granby. Burial will be private.
