Robert Allman Wright Jr.

Robert "Bob" Allman Wright, Jr., 86, of Charleston, SC, husband of Edna Walters Wright, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 11, 2014. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road, at 1:00 pm. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 6:00 to 8:00 pm . The founder/owner of the R.A. Wright Insurance Agency, Bob was born October 25, 1927 in Pasedena, CA and spent his boyhood years in Rome, GA and Myrtle Beach, SC. He was the son of the late Lt. Col. Robert Allman Wright and the late Felice Stefano Wright. Bob was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Prior to opening his own business, Bob was the manager for the Henry Yaschik Insurance Agency. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was also a member of the James Island Yacht Club, Charleston Elks Lodge #242 and American Legion Post #179. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Edna; son, Robert L. Wright of Houston, TX; daughter, Kay W. Harris (John) of Beaufort, SC; daughter, Nancy W. Shellnutt (Mike) of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter, Cheryl A. Wiles of Charlotte, NC; son, Lanny "L.R." Fountain of Charleston, SC; daughter, Lara Jo Latto (Nick) of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters: Anna Felice Carr of St. Petersburg, FL and Anita B. Wright of Beaufort, SC. He was predeceased by his son, Steven "Stevie" Allman Wright.
