Earl Eugene Smith Jr.

Earl Eugene Smith, Jr. age 63, of Cansler Rd, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 17, 1950 in Lincoln County to the late Earl Eugene Smith Sr. and Betty Jean Hartman Smith. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Cherryville. Earl was full of life and always had everyone laughing. He enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Heavner Smith; and sisters, Marsha Smith Lingerfelt and Lori Smith Gilbert. Survivors include his son, Michael Sean Smith (Dianna Taylor) of Lincolnton; daughter, Laura Kathryn Drew Smith of Lincolnton; grandson, Sevin Josiah Smith; and brother, Jerry Smith (Sherry) of Cherryville. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 202 N. Houser Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
