Mrs. Regina W. Walter

Regina (Judy) White Walter age 92 of Wilmington, DE passed away at the home of her daughter on January 28, 2014. Regina was born in Chester, PA on February 27, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (McAllister) Doris. She is predeceased by her first husband, Ernest T. White, in 1964 and her second husband, Sylvester H. Walter, in 1981. She was also predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Avery Noel Thompson, and her grandson-in-son in law, Jeffrey M. Thomas, her sisters, Catherine Wehe, Jeanne Hueston and Marie Shillow. She and her first husband, Ernest T. White, were partners in a successful general contracting business in Trainer, PA in the 1940's and 1950's until his passing in 1964. She was a very funny person with a great sense of humor – she loved to make people laugh. Many wonderful memories were created spending summers at the Jersey Shore, and she was always happiest doting on her family. She had tremendous faith and took great comfort in prayer. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Regina is survived by her daughter Catherine Ellen Lovell (Paul), granddaughters, Judith (Jason) Thompson of Newark, DE, Michele Thomas of Collierville, TN; and grandson, Mark (Teri) Lovell of Wilmington, DE and two great-granddaughters, Madeline and Cate Thomas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 on Saturday, February 1, 2014 with visitation beginning at 10 am. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803.
