Edna M. Buckner

Mrs. Buckner, age 86 years, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region. She was born in Flint, Michigan on June 24, 1927, to the late George and Jennie (Setterbo) Rude. Edna was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. On September 3, 1949, she married Robert L. Buckner in Salem Lutheran Church in Flint and he survives her. She also leaves a daughter, Cheryl (Greg) Wischmeyer of Essexville, 2 granddaughters: Sarah (fiancé, John Hirt) Wischmeyer and Allison (fiancé, Levi Heintzelman) Wischmeyer, a brother, James (Barbara) Rude and a sister-in-law, Doris Rude. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Owen Rude and Glen Rude. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. The Rev. Wes Gillaspie and the Rev. Robert Gadeken will officiate with interment following in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m.. She will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
