Agatha Gallo Obituary

Published by Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home on Mar. 8, 2014.
Agatha K. Gallo, 90, of West Hartford died on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home. She was the widow of John F. Gallo. She was born on April 18, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, one of six siblings. After living in different places including Kentucky and Indiana, she settled in Hartford with her husband and worked at Trinity College for over 25 years. Agatha was a cherished family member and friend, and we will miss her kind and gentle ways. An exceptional listener, thinker and dispenser of wisdom, she was always looking for the good in every situation. She was strong right up until the end, and well cared for in her final months by her family and Serena McCoy. Agatha is survived by her brother, Earl Kraus, and sister, Florence Fihe; her daughter, Isabel Riiska; her son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Diane Gallo; six grandchildren, Marc, Andrew, and Ellen Riiska, Christopher and Amy Gallo, Ericka Bajrami; and four great grandchildren, Owen and Celia Bajrami, Luba Guzei, and Harper Vania; and numerous nieces and nephews in Kentucky and Connecticut. Calling hours will be held at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main St., West Hartford on Friday, March 14 from 3-6 p.m. Friends and family may gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark the Evangelist Church. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.taylorandmodeen.com.

I am very sorry for your loss, she will always be my little tiny Tia Agatha, constantly offering me tea and little delicious cookies. I will be praying for her and your family.

Tia Agatha, you were always tiny and petite but a strong mighty woman. I regret not having the time of stopping by to see you the last time I was in CT visiting. Our visits and conversations together will always be cherished in my heart and I will miss your beautiful soothing soul. You lived a nice long life and I really hope you lived and enjoyed the life of your dreams as you deserved, that it exceeded your expectations.

I love you dearly and will miss stopping by to drink tea with you and will definitely miss our warm conversations.
